Training Committee Update 4/11/25
President - Dave Hawkins created a Training Committee in November 2024.
The concept is to develop plans and guidelines for training new officials as well as training existing officials. Review and create training materials for use at future chapter meetings and develop training topics and a schedule for Fall 2025 meetings.
Goals

Formalize a new training program.

Incorporating ideas from previous meetings and rolling them into actions, if possible.

Use USA-like training format and process for new officials and Chapter

Communicate to Dave Cummings about providing readiness of new officials prior to assigning

Email to Chapter about opportunities officiating USA/AAU volleyball

Created Pre-match meeting card to be distributed to all members to drive consistency of meetings

Evaluations of officials. Beginning in the Fall season - John Gump volunteered to do this.

Created and implemented a new questionnaire for new officials to obtain volleyball experience and background info

Also talked about doing training sessions at HS practices. Less formal environment and can work with officials.
